Can Your Kitchen Pass the Food Safety Test?"Fight BAC!" with food safety. Safe handling of food in your kitchen is critical to prevent foodborne illness. Learn tips for safe food selection, shopping, storage, preparation and serving foods to keep you and your family safe.Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer's Guide to Safe Food HandlingCooking for crowds is not the same as cooking at home. This three-hour workshop is designed for volunteers who prepare and serve vood to large groups such as churches, fire halls, and other non-profit organizations. Cost is $8.00 per person, with the additional cost of the manual at $12. Wild Game Meat Food SafetyThis program is designed to arm hunters and others with important information on wild game food saftey and processing. Topics include inspecting game animals for disease, updated information on field dressing and handling of wild game and fish and proper processing to prevent foodborne illness. Kitchen ThermometersDo you use kitchen thermometers? Wonder which ones are best suited for the job? This display and program helps sort out the types of thermometers needed for today's kitchen and proper uses of each. Food PreservationSeveral programs are available on food preservation topics including canning and freezing update, boiling water bath processing, and pressure canning, to help consumers maintain the highest quality and safety of home prepared foods. |
